I have been a business owner for over a decade with PaperPie (Books Made to Share) an incredible company passionate about spreading literacy through learning. Joining PaperPie (at the time it was Usborne Books & More) in 2013 really catapulted me into where I am today. I honestly had no intention on doing anything with this business. As soon as my dear friend Mescha Manietta heard that I joined a business she invited me (yet again) to come to a Mary West Networking Group. Mescha had invited me before even though I didn't have a business I was very crafty with paper & baking. Well, I didn't have a really good excuse to not go so I decided to go. I went to my first meeting not really know what to expect and was terrified when I realized I needed to STAND UP AND SPEAK in front of a room of people. The business owners in that room were SO incredibly supportive and a decade later I am still very close with a lot of those people and consider them my family.
Mary West the Owner & Creator of The Mary West Network connected with me and encouraged me to come participate and be apart of this group. I had two small kids at that time so I had talked to my mother about this incredible opportunity I had to grow this book business and my mother said if you have opportunities go for it! My mother watched my children during the meetings & events over the years.
Within a few months of joining PaperPie it became very apparent the need for these books in my community was! I decided to give it a go.
My husband at the time was not at all supportive of my business. When I had asked to join he said "If you must" I knew he meant no way. But, I said "I must". There was a lot of tension on our relationship because he was not supportive. ALSO, being a stay at home mom with 2 young children was very challenging as well. It was hard. I knew I could make this business work, I knew I could bring in extra income for our family. I knew how needed the books were in lives around me. I decided to just focus and figure out how to grow my business.
That is when Social Media came into the picture. It was a solution for me to expand my network through a platform I used daily. I have had lot of trials of errors (including bridges burnt) but all this lead to where I am today. Over the years I have learned to grow and expand a business on social media. I am really good at social media and I LOVE it.
In 2022 I started doing Social Media for a local to Kitsap business. I needed a creative outlet while doing through my divorce. I felt like I couldn't be creative, authentic & vulnerable on my own Social Pages so this was a really great way for me to tap into that without sharing about what was going on in my life because I just was not ready to share about that yet.
I absolutely loved doing Social Media for this business. I had the thought whatif I could do this for more business here in Kitsap County who have a heart to serve their community and make a positive impact on others lives.
That right there is when I began doing Social Media Management.
I would love to have a 1:1 with you to get to know you better! Schedule one here.
A 1:1 is where we meet to deepen the understanding between us in order to foster a better business relationship to see how we can help each other's businesses grow.
As I shared above, I have 3 incredible children, 1 boy & 2 girls. We also have a Chew-winnie named Tito. He is our adventure buddy.
