What Is the Kitsap Reading Trail?
The Kitsap Reading Trail is a summer literacy adventure that invites families to explore local businesses while encouraging kids to keep reading during the summer months.
Each participating business becomes a Trail Stop, featuring a PaperPie children’s book displayed for visiting families to read and enjoy. As families travel the trail, kids use a Reading Trail Map to visit each stop, read the book, and collect a stamp or sticker.
Once their map is complete, children earn prizes — and along the way they discover and connect with the amazing businesses that make up our Kitsap community.
For businesses, it’s a meaningful way to welcome families into your space, support literacy and be part of a fun community experience. 📚✨

Why Sponsor?
The Kitsap Reading Trail gives local businesses a unique way to connect with families, support literacy, and be part of a positive community experience. Sponsors become a destination on the trail, welcoming families into their space while being recognized as supporters of children, learning, and community connection.
For just $50, Trail Sponsors receive:
✔️ A hardcover children’s book from PaperPie (yours to keep after the program), thoughtfully selected to match the theme or vibe of your business.
✔️ Your business featured as a Trail Stop on the official Kitsap Reading Trail Map and website.
✔️ Promotion across social media and local family groups, helping families discover your business.
✔️ A spotlight feature in our Reading Trail Facebook community, connecting you directly with participating families.
✔️ Printed Trail Maps for your location so families can begin their adventure with you.

What You’ll Provide
To participate, we simply ask that your business provide:
✔️ A small, visible space in your business to display the featured book for families to enjoy.
✔️ A unique stamp or sticker to mark children’s Trail Maps when they visit
(Your business logo stamp, a fun sticker, or a seasonal design all work great!)
✔️ Optional: You’re welcome to offer a coupon, small giveaway, or discount for trail participants — but this is completely optional and not required.
Your role is simple: welcome families, share the story, and help make the reading adventure memorable 📚✨
